Long Island Electric Auto Association
From LIEAA
The Long Island Electric Auto Association (Commonly known as the LIEAA for short) is the Long Island chapter of the Electric Auto Association. It was founded on May 29, 2008 by Michael Anzalone. The LIEAA's first meeting was held on July 2, 2008 at 6:00 PM in the offices of PrecisionSigns.com, Inc. Subsequent meetings have been held at SUNY Farmingdale's Lupton Hall on the first Wednesday of every month.
Michael Anzalone's interest in electric vehicles is based primarily on their environmental benefits, and simple, efficient technology. It is his hope that by forming this new organization, the following goals will be met:
- Learn more about Electric Vehicle (EV) technology & share that knowledge with others.
- Increase awareness of the benefits of Electric Vehicles.
- Promote the use of clean vehicles.
In addition, one of Michael's near-term personal goals is to convert a gasoline powered vehicle to electric power.
Officials
As a new organization, the LIEAA's first order of business was to apply for affiliation with the Electric Auto Association. In order to become a recognized chapter, the LIAA had to elect at least two officials. The following positions are held:
- President - Carl Vogel
- Vice President - Horacio Calvento
- Secretary - Michael Anzalone
- Treasurer - Vincent Pina
- Program Director - Joshua Tomel
